    Engagement Session: Cristy + Amaury

It all started when Cristy was the tender age of 13. She never would have thought the day she walked into Winn Dixie, that her life would never be the same. Amaury was a bag boy, and the moment he saw Cristy, he was hooked.

Cristy and Amaury were a great couple! I knew when Cristy called me and told me that she wanted her engagement session to be at a fair, that they were going to be a fun couple.

When we started out at FIU, they were a little nervous in front of the camera at first.

But we still managed to get some great shots!

This one is one of my favorites!

Then my assistant, Josh, gave them a little bit of direction for a little bit of fun.

They had to tease one another...

    ... but eventually gave in.

Then off to the fair! I was playing around, trying to get the light just perfect, and got this. They are not in focus, and that one guy is blocking my shot, but for some reason, I like it! :-)

Going to the fair is like going to NYC for the first time, you can't help but look up at all the lights and smile!

By this time, they started to loosen up. I knew this couple was going to be fun!

I love this shot with the lights spinning in the background!

Anyone who knows me, knows I am a sucker for cotton candy. You can't go to the fair and NOT have cotton candy!

Then we went for a ride on the carousel.

I think they forgot at this point I was still there taking pictures while we were spinning.

Josh grabbed my camera for this quick mirror shot right as the ride ended.

The were oblivious of all the people around them! I love it!

We ended the night with a ride on the Ferris Wheel.

Cristy & Amaury, thank you for allowing me to share in your love for one another. Josh and I both had so much fun with you guys hanging out at the fair!

    Engagement Session: Elizabeth + Frank

Woo hoo! I am finally getting a free second to post up some (ok, several) of my favorite images from Elizabeth and Frank's recent engagement session. These two are a FABULOUS couple! The are so sweet and so well suited to each other. Its nice to see two people so much in love. The thing I really loved about Elizabeth and Frank is that you can really tell that they are best friends.

We headed out to Virginia Key to take some great shots on the beach. It was REALLY hot, but both Elizabeth and Frank were troopers.

I love this shot, but I can't take credit for it. Frank had a great idea for an awesome image. He said he wanted a photo of his and Elizabeth's footprints side by side leading to only his footprints. He then wanted to show him caring her in his arms off in the distance. What and awesomely sweet idea. I love this image and the meaning it has behind it.

Now I have to just say... this is so hot! :)

There was this really awesome bus that was dirty, rusted out, and graffitti'ed. I decided I wanted to tell a story with the images....

    Girl meets boy on bus....

Boy and girl fall in love...

    completely in love....

these are totally my favorite images of the day.

and then on the outside of the bus is when it starts to get HOT!

Elizabeth and Frank met through cycling. When Frank first met Elizabeth, she had broken her arm just the week before from a fall on her bike. They didn't see each other again for a couple months, but he still remembered her.

And the next time he saw her again, they were inseperable

    Isn't love grand!?!?!?

Boy + Girl + Rescue Dog = Photo Bliss

Let me just start by saying that my photo session with Jen, Matt and their dog Abby this past weekend was probably the most relaxed session I think I've ever done. Jen and Matt wanted some relaxed portraits showing them in their normal setting, in and around their apartment in the high tech world of Davie, Florida (ok, maybe I embellished a little on that last part). Honestly, their apartment was the perfect setting for their portraits. I really got a feel from them as a family and could tell they enjoyed a stress free lifestyle.

I mentioned in the title that their dog, Abby, is a rescue dog. Jen got her from a local dachshund rescue here in South Florida called DARE. You can check out their website at http://www.daretorescue.com/. Abby is a sweet little girl and was the highlight of the shoot. Here are a few photos from this weekend.

I love this! The whole family, including the dog! Too Cute!

Everyday life, taking Abby for a walk around the lake.

I love what this photo implies. It shows the whole family in just the shadows.

How could you say no to that face? If you are interested in saving the life of a dog like Abby, contact DARE today through their website!

A Mini Celebration and a Sister Session

I cannot believe it. WE HAVE THE INTERNET!!! woo hoo! And here I was just days ago talking about how I was amazed that parts of the country (so close to the city) still didn't have high speed access. My hats are off to BellSouth/AT&T! They got us connected a full month before they said they would. No more stalking late night diners and eclectic coffee shops (ok, in reality, this probably won't really change), I can now sit in my pajamas, drink coffee, and edit photos. :) Life is good!

In honor of this celebration, I stopped by my local IKEA and picked up a new computer desk. Its so nice to have a larger workspace. You don't realize how much all the clutter stresses you out until its gone. Plus, since the new desk was only $40, I had extra money on the $50 gift card I got for Christmas. Did I mention life was good?

On to the really good stuff... Here is a sneak peek to a recent family photo session. Tanna and Lori are sisters from Trinidad. They got together to have their portraits done for their parents for a late Christmas gift. We drove around Fort Lauderdale for awhile trying to find an ideal spot. We didn't have to go very far. While driving through a neighborhood, we passed a small inlet. The sun was setting offering beautiful light. It was a little windy, but it just added to the beauty and feel of the photos.

Do you know Tanna and Lori? Leave a comment on this blog post to help them win a prize!

P.S. - I am super excited to launch the new site. Expect to see it this week!!

Athalia & Kevin - Engagement Session

We went out to South Beach right at sunrise last weekend to get these great shots of Athalia and Kevin. This couple had NEVER been photographed together before! For a good part of their relationship, Athalia's been away at college while Kevin's been down here in South Florida. What an honor to give this couple their first photographs together!!

    The World at Their Fingertips

Oh, Senior year of high school! The world is yours and all you have to do is reach out and take it!! I recently shot two high school seniors, Brittany and Jessie, from Jacksonville. They are best friends and do everything together, so we did both their shoots at the same time. The photos turned out great and after our 5 hour shoot, the girls were pictured out. Here are a few of my favorites from the day.
